What is a doula?
A doula is a non-medically trained companion whose role is to educate, guide and support women before, during and after birth. A doula does not replace a women's birth partner but works with them to be able to provide physical and emotional support to the birthing person.
How do I see my work as a Doula?
As an Exercise Physiologist and Doula, I know that there isn't a "one size fits all".
I therefore tailor all my services to each women's individual needs. My role as a doula is to guide you through your parenthood journey by giving you the facts and reassurance so that you can feel empowered to make decisions that align with your parenting style. I am a fierce advocate of women letting their body guide them during labour and birth and letting your instincts guide you through your postpartum. I am there to provide you with physical and emotional support and of course constant reassurance that you are doing an amazing job!
Why only offer my Doula services online ?
Through my podcast, I have come to the realisation that women are often left to their own device during pregnancy and postpartum and sometimes don't know who to turn to to ask questions, get reassurance or feel heard. This is why I have decided to offer my services online, so I can help any mums and mums-to-be, no matter the location and time difference. Plus let's be honest, how easy and comfortable is it to get the help you need while in your pjs without having to move from the couch?
